Stolen Myanmar Elections
Myanmar (also known as Burma) held its Presidential general elections on November 8th, 2020 (five days after the U.S. Presidential Elections held on November 3rd, 2020).
Aung San Suu Kyi, 77, a Burmese politician, diplomat, author and 1991 Nobel Peace prize laureate, won the election. However, Kyi was quickly arrested for electoral fraud and corruption and is now is serving a 33-year prison sentence.
Military Intervention
The Myanmar military seized power from Suu Kyi’s elected government on February 1, 2021, saying it acted because of alleged widespread voter fraud.
Myanmar used the same Dominion voting software used in the U.S. Presidential elections held on November 3, 2020.
The military declared that more than eight million cases of potential voting fraud had been uncovered relating to the November 8th, 2020 election. Myanmar has a population of 54 million.
The military claimed to have found widespread inconsistencies and many cases of ineligible voters.
